Flashback: Princess Beatrice’s Christening

Welcome to an occasional segment called “Royal Flashback”. Today we’ll talk about Princess Beatrice’s Christening.

Sarah, Duchess of York; Prince Andrew, Duke of York

Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary, was christened in the Chapel Royal at London’s St. James’s Palace, on Dec. 20, 1988.  Her godparents were: Viscount Linley (her father’s cousin), The Duchess of Roxburghe (now Lady Jane Dawnay), Peter Palumbo, The Hon Mrs John Greenall and Mrs Henry Cotterell.

She was named Beatrice, after Queen Victoria’s daughter, Elizabeth after her grandmother and Mary after her great-great-grandmother and her maternal grandmother’s second name.

Princess Beatrice is 27 years old and is currently 8th on the line of succession.
